• How to Play Electronic Poker

Electronic Poker is a popular game that can be enjoyed in casinos around the globe, or alternatively at your house on your PC, using an Internet account. The rules are absolutely straightforward and involve the player trying to achieve the highest combination of cards as you can in order to acquire cash. In this respect it’s very similar as a classic game of poker, minus the involvement with other players. Of course, techniques used in a physical game of poker, like tricking, will be irrelevant in Video Poker.

The game of Electronic Poker begins when the enthusiast puts credits (whether it’s tokens, tickets or money) into the machine and pushes the deal button. A hand of five cards will then be "given out" on the video screen.

The Video Poker machine also has hold buttons, and players should now choose which cards to keep and which to throw away. For the cards the gambler would like to keep, the ‘hold’ buttons should be pressed so that they illuminate. The player can decide to keep any number of cards they wish, whether it’s all or none.

After the gambler has decided on which cards he or she would like to retain, the player will then press ‘deal’, which will mean that any new cards are needed they will be dealt. The game is now completed, with the Video Poker machine scanning the cards to see if it matches any of the winning hands listed in the pay out schedule.

Normally, the minimum winning hand on a Video Poker machine is a pair of jacks with the prize money increasing for each better hand. A common list of winning hands begins with jacks or better, and moves on to two pairs, three of a kinds, straights, flushes, full houses, 4 of a kinds, straight flushes and last but not least royal flushes. It definitely goes without saying that the payment schedule can vary from game to game, so that skillful gamblers are agile enough to pick the most money-making ones each time.

Once the initial round has finished, the player can either decide to stay on and try to to increase their earnings, or press the ‘collect’ button to retrieve any credits that they may have won. Further, some versions of the game give the enthusiast a chance to increase their profits, in which situation another hand is played. There are also differences among individual games, with some decks of cards having wild cards and other differing aspects to increase playability.
